Given how much food myself and my partner eat, he eats very similar to me, I have aimed to make it as quick and easy as possible.
Chicken for example, seasoned and straight into the air fryer (how amazing are those things!) Rice is the same, into a rice cooker and microwave 2ltrs at a time. Even my veg I buy in frozen bags for easier prep and serve
Given the lifestyle I live, I don’t have the time or energy to make fancy 20 ingredient healthy meals. I have seen them, they do look amazing but it’s a lot of work. I don’t mind the monotony of how I eat, seeing food as fuel has been helpful and I save all of my food cravings or inventiveness for my free / cheat meals.
And if the season provides (off season) there are plenty of quick ways to jazz up my basic foods that keep me going. Marinades, changing up fats with meals etc.
My advice to my clients is always to keep the everyday as simple as possible, mix it up where needed but not to stray for the basics. Your body deserves real, unprocessed foods. Protein with each meal and a healthy balance of carbs and fats is easier than you think, as long as you don’t think too much on it!
